Belmont is a city in San Mateo County, California, located halfway down the San Francisco Peninsula between San Mateo and San Carlos. It was originally part of the Rancho de las Pulgas, for which one of its main roads, the Alameda de las Pulgas, is named.

This is a great local ice rink with open skate times, lessons, birthday parties, and similar. The ice is well groomed and as a large rink there’s usually plenty of room to skate and spread out.
The facility itself is a bit run down, done in the old 80’s style of dark carpeting and stained ceiling panels. The kids don’t notice those kinds of details, though.

We specialize in rides for experienced riders and therefor provide responsive, well-conditioned horses for a vigorous ride.Canada Road Bicycle Sundays
Canada Rd Belmont, CA (415) 363-4020 This wide open road is great for biking, even if it weren’t closed for Bicycle Sundays. The bike lanes are generous and visibility is good so you can coast & climb the many hills safely. Starting out near Hwy 92, where there is plenty of parking, there are great views of the reservoir. We even saw a whole family of deer grazing on the green by the water! Water Dog Lake Park
Lyall Way & Lake Rd Belmont, CA (650) 595-7441
Great local spot for mountain biking that doesn’t require driving up to Skyline. A great choice if you live or are staying on the Peninsula.
The trail network is nicely diverse. There are fire roads for novices and singletrack of varying difficulty. Apparently, a local mountain biking club helps design and maintain trails. This shows in the many fun trails with crazy little ramps, bridges and obstacles. Another great feature is the complete lack of horse poop, making this a great alternative to Arastradero.
Twin Pines Park

This is a nice forest-like park in a semi-urban setting. With two main picnic areas, with modern, comprehensive play structures at each, this park has something for everyone. I like how each picnic table has a bbq, and in the second picnic/play area, across the bridge, the picnic areas are very spread out with a forest of eucalyptus trees around. There are trails that run through the park connecting the different picnic areas and to different streets. It is by far one of my favorite parks found within a city.
